The Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) visa was introduced to provide job flexibility for middle and senior foreign executives working in Singapore. Holders of this Personalised Employment Pass are entitled to stay in Singapore for up to 6 months in between jobs while seeking for new employment opportunities.

In addition, foreign executives with years of working experience are entitled to apply for this visa without first securing a job in Singapore. This Personalised Employment Pass visa is awarded based on the individual applicant’s merits. The Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) visa is equivalent to a P1 Employment Pass category but with the following benefits:

- The Personalised Employment Pass is valid for up to 5 years where the holders of this pass are not tied to any single one employer

- The Personalised Employment Pass holder does not have to cancel and re-apply for a new visa each time he/she changes a new job; and

- The Personalised Employment Pass holder can take on employment in any sector or industry.

- Holders of this personalised employment pass are not required to leave Singapore for a period of six months without a job to evaluate employment or work opportunities.

The PEP pass is also considered as a self-sponsored work visa as one does not require a Singapore company sponsor to apply this visa. Therefore, this PEP pass serves as an ideal work visa for those who have not obtained a job offer in Singapore and are willing to take for find suitable employment in Singapore. From experience, most of, our clients obtain work within 3 – 6 months through the PEP pass. However, One Visa cannot guarantee that you would obtain a job through the PEP pass.

People who meet the following criterions are entitled to apply for the Personalised Employment Pass (PEP):

  • Foreign executives who earn of at least S$8,000 per month
  • Former P1 Employment Pass holders with their last day of employment or last drawn pay within 6 months of the time of this PEP application
  • Current P1 Employment Pass holders who are working in Singapore and are changing jobs
  • P2 Employment Pass holders who have worked in Singapore for at least 2 years and earn at least S$30,000 annually
  • Q1 Employment Pass holders who have worked in Singapore for at least 5 years and earn at least S$30,000 annually
  • Foreign Graduates from MOM recognized institutes of higher learning in Singapore who have at least two years of working experience on a P or Q Employment Pass with an annual income of at least $30,000

Please note that all PEP pass holders are not entitled to start their own company in Singapore. However, they are at liberty to hold a minority Shareholding in the company including acting as one of the Directors.

For the application of Personalised Employment Pass, the following documents are required:
  • 1 copy of resume / CV
  • 1 copy of all educational qualification certificates
  • 1 copy of passport details
  • 1 copy of employment letter from current employer (if applicable)
  • Other relevant documents such as the past employment testimonials or documents which we may advice to strengthen your application

* For the above certificates/documents which are not in English, an *official English translation is required. Certificates in original languages must also be submitted. *official denotes certificates/documents issued by the High Commission or embassies.

The Personalised Employment Holder is eligible for Dependant Pass for his/her family members. You may refer to our Dependant Pass section for more information. Personalised Employment Pass holders is also be eligible for Singapore Permanent Residency (SPR) after working in Singapore for a minimum period of 12 months.

Service fee: S$ 1,500 (Exclude Government fees and subject to complication of the case)

Processing Time: 4-5 weeks (Subject to MOM’s Approval)

One Visa facilitates your Personalised Employment Pass application by advising you on the forms and documents required. We are here to ensure that all your supporting documents are accepted by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). We will monitor closely on your application until we have obtained the official reply from MOM.
